This motif features the iconic emblem of the GDR – hammer, compass, and wheat – framed in a medal-like design with the inscription “Heroes of Labor” and the years 1949–1990. It reflects the socialist ideal of the working citizen and was inspired by official honors in the former East Germany. Today, it represents historical memory, Ostalgie, and symbolic appreciation of the DDR’s labor generation.
