EHRfurcht e.V. is a non-profit and charitable association that addresses those affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The basis of the offer is animal-assisted intervention with horses as well as additional activities,
such as working together in the forest and on wood.

Many emergency workers have to stay away from their work due to post-traumatic stress disorder
or similar symptoms.

They want to become confident in their actions again,
to experience camaraderie, to spend active free time and, above all, to reduce their fears.

Those affected should find a way of communicating through horses and working with them,
both with the animal and with the accompanying team.

Horses are very social creatures, they are sensitive, have fine antennas and communicate in their own non-verbal way.

In everyday life, those affected try to hide their actual emotional state from themselves and their environment,
unpleasant things are repressed and their own emotions are rarely allowed.

Horses perceive these areas of tension unfiltered and show the other person through their behavior and body language
where they are at the moment.

They ask us to allow emotions in order to get back in touch with ourselves.

Those who have been traumatized often have the feeling of worthlessness and of being a burden to others.
This is where another component of our activities comes into play: working with wood,
can only be done in a group because concentration, strength and effort are required.

The work involves a comprehensive value chain from felling the trees,
transporting the trunks to the sawmill with the help of draft horses, and processing the wood together, e.g. into a chair, table or bench.

This joint and individual work gives those affected more self-confidence and self-esteem.

The seminars are financed exclusively through donations.

Every donation is used only for non-profit and charitable purposes.
