Background:
The “Stoffhund” was East Germany’s take on a lightweight multipurpose vehicle – simple, rugged, and unmistakably Trabi. Used by the National People’s Army, civil services, and emergency units, it became iconic due to its unmistakable silhouette and nickname, which refers to the fabric top. Today, the Stoffhund is a cherished vintage car among collectors and a beloved symbol of DDR vehicle culture.
